Parish Life

The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but an active, involved parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant faith community with an exciting parish life, a community that everyone wants to be part of….  Our parish offers a variety of ways to be part of collaborative parish family in addition to the celebration of the sacraments.

Faith formation is a vital element of the Catholic life as we grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Church he gave us. A deeper understanding can lead to a more intimate relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and through the Trinity to the Church and our family, friends, neighbors, parish, and community. Such faith formation is not just for children, but for all of us as we grow as Catholics. Our parish has many opportunities for outreach, prayer, and faith formation that we encourage you to explore.

Another way to participate in our parish life is through involvement in the various parish ministries. We are a stewardship parish, that lives out our gratitude for the many gifts we receive from God through outreach and service to others. Because each of us has been given a different set of gifts and talents, our parish offers nearly 80 ministry opportunities to serve God within out parish, families, and community. Some will choose private prayer opportunities or involvement in the parish prayer line; others liturgical ministries, such as choir member, lector, altar server, and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, usher or greeter; Christian Service opportunities such as visiting the homebound and those in a hospital or nursing home, funeral ministry; faith formation opportunities such as catechists or assistants in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, or involvement in youth ministry.  God calls us to use our gifts and talents to glorify Him and make life better for other people. Please prayerfully consider one of our many opportunities for getting involved in the parish through ministry. And if you have an idea for a new parish ministry, please contact us.

With so many ways to be part of parish life, you’ll want to stay informed by regularly reading the weekly bulletin, just in case you’ve misplaced the one you received at Mass. You’ll also want to check the parish calendar for a list of events and mass schedules. And you will also want to read the new bi-monthly parish newsletter that will report on the events we just concluded in the last two months PLUS a preview of what is to come in the coming two months – another tool to keep you informed and educated and invited into the many ministries & events happening within the parish.

Our parish has a rich history in our town, being formed by people who trusted in the Lord and gatherd together under the leadership of our bishop. Who we are today is based on who we were yesterday. Find out more about our spiritual forefathers as you read more about the history of the three parishes that merged together to become St. June Thaddeus Parish on July 1, 2014.

We hope you will also enjoy viewing photos of our parish, including some of the many enjoyable events and programs we’ve had over the years.
